Kevin Howley has been obsessed with sound and song for his entire life, spending his early years taking piano lessons, playing acoustic guitar, studying drums with a Prog-Rock legend, writing Folk songs, playing in Skate Punk bands, Jazz groups, theatre pit orchestras, and programming electronic beats.
Kevin is now a graduate of the Humber College Music Program, specializing in drum set/percussion, vocals and composition.
His skills as a multi-instrumentalist (drums, guitar, bass, piano, trombone, various percussion), vocalist, songwriter, and producer have put him in high demand in Toronto, Canada as a songwriter, a side-man, and producer. He's won various awards and competitions, toured extensively in Canada, Europe, and the US, and attracted the ear and tutelage of record producer Gavin Brown (Metric, Billy Talent, Three Days Grace).
Kevin’s musical instincts and versatility have also put him in demand for high-profile gigs across Canada, working with artists such as Juno-winner Slakah the Beatchild, "Stars" front Torquil Campbell, Swedish art-pop genius Tingsek, LeRiche, Tanika Charles, Tedy, Virginia To Vegas, The Abrams, KC Roberts as well as a slew of award-winning Jazz musicians including: Kenny Kirkwood, Rich Brown, Dave Restivo, Kevin Turcotte, and Wendell Ferguson.
He is currently focusing most of his time and energy on production for various artists including Sarah Hiltz, Eunice Keitan, Mike Celia, Janïsa, Nolan Hubbard, Leah Canali, and Peter Drucker as well as developing his new original project “Wolfville” with co-writing partner and Running Red Lights bandmate Scarlett Flynn.
He hosts a popular weekly open mic night every Wednesday at the B-side Lounge and you can catch him performing regularly around Toronto with Running Red Lights, Mohsin Zaman, Songstress Eunice Keitan, Toronto dance party institution Loving In The Name Of, Parkside Drive, and Dwayne Gretzky's "The 99’s".
